White + Green Should Always Be Seen

My friend/ flatmate India was about to step out for some frolicking in the sun when I was compelled to stop her in her tracks and take a few snaps because her outfit was just so darn pretty.

Sometimes simple is best, and this bright maxi from Topshop speaks for itself when paired with a simple white vest by Kookai.

India actually bought this skirt last summer, so this outfit is living proof that the humble maxi is unlikely to ever be considered a  fashion faux pas ;)
Topshop (last year) £40
Are you recycling anything from last summer's wardrobe or are you all about the dipped hems and split skirts currently littering the high street?

Thanks for reading and thanks India!

Topshop Blush in 'Flush'

By now, you've probably seen quite a lot of info on the cream blush range from Topshop but I figure there's no harm in putting in my two cents as well.

I actually picked up the cream blush in the shade Flush a couple of months back during an impromptu visit to the Oxford Street store and have been using it most days to perk up my complexion.

I'll be honest, I'm a bit of a newbie in the world of cream blushes and was a little bit scared I'd end up looking like I'd had a terrible lipstick accident but this blush proved me wrong as it delivered a lovely dewy result that blends and builds easily.

I chose this rather bright pink shade because it's a little out of my comfort zone and the colour is like Summer in a palette.
The texture is sort of greasy and powdery at the same time and melts onto the skin as it's blended (I just use my fingers), resulting in a pretty and natural looking flush- hence the name ;)

Blended
At £6 this blush is a pretty decent investment. It's easy to apply, highly pigmented and relatively long lasting all wrapped up in a rather cute polka dot compact with mirror. What's not to love really?

How do you feel about the Topshop make up range? The lipsticks are among my favourites and now this cream blush is a staple in my make up bag.

Thanks for reading :D

Lipstick I Love: Topshop Lips in Rio Rio

Topshop describe this gorgeous lip colour as a 'bright red'.

I may well be imagining things because I would call it a ' feisty bright orange/coral/red shade of utter fabulousness'.
Technicalities aside, the official name for this shade is Rio Rio and I'm a little bit in lust with it.

Rio Rio is £8 from Topshop

This is a velvet, matte finish lipstick that feels creamy and hydrating on the lips thanks to skin loving ingredients such as shea butter and rice bran wax.
Rio Rio is a perfect name for this lippy because this colour actually makes me feel like dancing at a carnival in very little clothing. If I do this, don't worry I won't blog about it.
You will be spared :)

How do you feel about Topshop make up? I'm keen to try more from the range.

Let's All Have A Laugh....

...At my very first Outfit Of The Day.

Ok, so I generally really like reading other blogger's OOTD posts, so I thought it could be fun to do one myself :0

My beautiful friend (and new housemate!) India said she liked what I was wearing today and suggested I do a little post about it. She even volunteered to take a couple of snaps of me striking a pose (looking uncomfortable).
Midriff is back in a big way and I seem to have acquired a few different interpretations of the trend already, including this top from Topshop.

Top: Topshop £29
Super Skinny Jeans: Primark £9
Converse: JD Sports £45
Awkward Pose: Models Own

To be honest, I used to turn my nose up a bit at Primark when it comes to clothing, but I have to say that I find their jeans utterly fanastic in terms of value. They've brought out loads of coloured jeans that are unbelievably affordable, so if you haven't checked them out yet, you really should!

So....does anyone have any posing tips for me? ANYONE? :)

Thanks for reading!

Lipstick I love: Infrared by Topshop

Ok, so I'm a self confessed lipstick fiend. When I bought my first tube of Chanel Rouge Allure in Passion a few years back, I practically beat myself about the head for not discovering the joys of lipstick earlier. To this day, I have trouble comprehending why women don't just wear the stuff all the time! It's bloomin' amazing and leaving the house without a slick of it is akin to going out minus shoes, or your rollers still setting in your hair. Well that's a blatant exaggeration, but my point is I love lipstick - hence the name of my quaint  little site. :)

Because I'm such a lipstick menace, I thought it would be nice to review some every now and then, and first off the bat is this little gem from the Topshop makeup collection.

Topshop Lips in Infrared

I bought this one on a whim on my lunchbreak - a purchase born  out of the boredom and curiosity that only a lunch break can bring. I noticed it because of the stand out colour. I'm definitely a red lip girl but the fact that this one is a bright, orangey red was a little bit out of my comfort zone.
But I got it anyway, and I think it's rather lovely - not as scary on the lips as it looks. The colour is Infrared and it's definitely a standout.

Infared is bright but wearable
This is touted as a velvet finish lipstick that smoothes, moisturises and nourishes the lips. It does feel rather smooth and creamy, and   is definitely more hydrating than a lot of lipsticks I've tried in the past. The swatch on my arm makes it look a little more orange than it does on the lips, because lips have that natural pinkness that shines through fairly sheer lipsticks such as this one.
I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical about the make up range from Topshop when it first launched - kind of in the same way that I'm weary of celebrity frangrances (I still remember JLo Glow's pungent soapy stench stuck in the back of my throat as a 19 year old), but I must say that I am impressed by it so far - the only negative really is that the staying power isn't that great - but top marks for a groovy colour! The next lipstick I'm going to have a good look at is shade 01 from the Kate Moss for Rimmel. My current favourite :)
